RAW

I have been the main contributor to RAW, an open-source data visualization tool originally developed at DensityDesign in collaboration with Matteo Azzi, Michele Mauri and Giorgio Uboldi.

Primarily conceived as a tool for designers and vis geeks, RAW allows to easily create and customize vector graphics visualizations from numerous data sources and formats.

RAW is a web application that works with delimiter-separated values (i.e. csv and tsv files) as well as with copied-and-pasted data from other applications (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Google Docs, ...). Visualizations can be easily embedded in web pages or exported and edited with vector graphics applications for further refinements.

RAW has been covered in many technology and visualization websites, such as Gizmodo, gigaom, The Why Axis, Visual.ly, datavisualization.ch and it has been extensively used by many data visualization and design professionals. In November 2014, RAW has been awarded Best tool and Most Beautiful project at the KANTAR Information is Beautiful Awards.

I have left the project in January 2017. RAW has been expanded and relaunched as RAWGraphs, a joined effort between DensityDesign and Calibro, sponsored by Contactlab.
